Couple Boot Up Computer Business

BUTLER – Rural Butler residents Neil and Jeanne Pushis recently established Just-A-Gig Computer Services.

The couple have worked at Steel Dynamics Inc for 11 years.  They said they decided to create Just-A-Gig to offer computer repair services so people in Butler, St. Joe, Spencerville, Hicksville, Ohio, and the surrounding area don’t have to drive to larger communities.

“Computers are too easy to repair to ask a fortune to fix them,” Neil Pushis said.  He has worked on computers for 15 years, going back to the old Apple II versions.

“A computer’s hard drive needs to be maintained.  Just like a lawn mower needs to be maintained a couple of times each season, a computer needs to be maintained.  I work on computers because I love them,” he said.

While he doesn’t write computer programs, Pushis is familiar with all Windows software formats.  He can also identify viruses, spyware and malware, which can infect a computer and affect its performance.

Just-A-Gig builds custom computers to provide anything from basic e-mail or Internet service to high-end graphics.  Neil Pushis added that the business offers wired and wireless networking options, small business services, as well as hardware and software upgrades.

Pushis said he works with customers to provide what they need, not several functions they don’t understand or don’t want.

“It’s all about not buying any more or less than you need,” he said.
